Studying in the Department of Information Technology

As the field of Engineering is nowadays subject to continuous and rapid change, great importance is attached to a sound education in the fundamentals of Mathematics and Natural Sciences as well as of Engineering Methodologies. Through small groups (up to a maximum of 40 students), an intensive contact to the lecturers is ensured.

The learning contents have a practical focus, and in many courses there are integrated laboratories, in which the students can – in groups of two or three – put into practice what they have learned in the lectures.

Because of the up-to-date learning contents and the practical experience in the 5th semester, the Bachelor course prepares you excellently for your career start.

In the internationally oriented postgraduate programme:

good graduates from Germany and the whole world can expand and consolidate their knowledge in different fields and thus qualify themselves for a demanding career.

Already in the Bachelor programme, there is a relatively high percentage of international students. However, in particular the international orientation of the Master programme (which is nonetheless held in German) offers an interesting environment in which to gather your first experience for the globalized job market.

Thanks to the Department's partnerships with renowned universities, an internship semester or a thesis abroad can be done without a problem.

The Master in Information Technology is the only Master’s course in electrical engineering sciences nationwide to have been awarded the 'TOP10 International Master's Degree Courses made in Germany' quality label from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Donors' Association for the Promotion of Science.
