The Master’s course in Information Technology at Hochschule Mannheim (Mannheim University of Applied Sciences) was presented this award by the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) and the 'Donors Association for the Promotion of Science and Humanities in Germany' in 2006.
The first nationwide competition to select the 10 best Master’s degree courses was announced in spring 2006, with over 120 entries from 77 universities all around the country. The jury was composed of independent representatives from universities in Germany and abroad as well as from industry.
Since then, our Master’s course has been the only programme in Electrotechnical Engineering Sciences among the prize-winners of two competitions.

This award is a recognition of a unique but successful concept: an international postgraduate engineering study programme using German as the medium of tuition with half the student body being foreign and the other half German.
Not only should the members of faculty, but above all the students be credited for this success.
