The final assignment within the course, the Master thesis, is to be undertaken as a full-time project over a period of 6 months. The Master thesis concludes with a scientific colloquium and is accredited with 30 CP (28 CR for the research project and 2 CR for the oral defence).
This final project can be conducted in one of our laboratories (roughly 35% of the total theses) and also in industry. In the latter case students have to look for a company that provides a suitable offer. However, before they agree with a company they first have to find a professor in the department who will supervise their Master project. Official registration of the Master thesis at the Examinations Office is carried out by the supervisor.
The Master Thesis is generally written in German. In exceptional cases the professor supervising your thesis can approve another language.
